Saying Goodbye

Saying goodbye to a beloved friend and pet is so difficult.  Skitz wasn't my cat but yet was the whole family's kitty because she lived with us all at one time or another.

Becky is having a hard time right now because Skittsy was a "cool" kitty and was her first kitty.  She followed her everywhere.  Becky was a wonderful "mommy" to Skitz although right now she is blaming herself and second guessing everything.  She is an animal lover and takes such good care of her furr babies.  It will take time.  Most of us have been through losing a beloved pet.  This is a first for her.

The pictures are from Becky's facebook.  She has a memorial page for her Skittsycat.  I told her that I would do a montage of sorts in my journal.  She is touched by all the thoughts and prayers being sent her way.

The outdoor pictures were taken on Saturday.  I think that is what is the hardest thing to deal with.  Skitz was romping around and seemed perfectly healthy on Saturday.  Within 24 hours, she was dying.  Not that we are ever prepared but this was just such a sudden shock.

I worry because Becky keeps so much inside.  I know eventually she will be ok with this.  So, we march forward.  Megan is coming home next Saturday.  I know she will be totally shocked also.  I haven't said anything toher when she's e-mailed me.

So much is on the plate this week.  My bus was in an accident on the way to work the day we put the kitty down.  No one was hurt but it wasn't a good start for a day that got worse.

Oy, I think I'm rambling.  I'm whooped.  Think I'll give Becky a call and then head off to sleep.

Hugs to all!  You're the best!  Chris

She reminds me in coloring of a wonderful cat I had called Tiger.  I will never forget what a blow it was to me for this delightful pet to be killed down in the field by a wild animal, possibly a coyote.  I never had a cat again that had his personality, so I know how one can mourn a beloved pet.  Nice pics and thoghts.  Gerry

Im a huge animal lover but cats hold a special place in my heart which is why I have 6 of them, but over the years it has never been easy to say goodbye and truly breaks your heart, my heart breaks for your daughter, oneday they are fine and the next we are losing them. This will be such a hard time, some people think it's too soon after losing a pet to get another one but I do think it helps. I hope she gets through this OK. Skitz was so precious!! : (

I'm so sorry it's hard for Becky. I can see by the photos that Skittsy was a much loved pet. It's right not to tell Megan and upset her when she's on vacation. I hope he had a good time, it seems to have gone by so fast! I'm glad no one on your bus was injured. Jeannette xx  http://journals.aol.co.uk/jlocorriere05/Welcometomytravels/

She was so cute! I really LIKE the way your pics are displayed here. I can see the whole picture and it gives me TIME to see it. Which feature is it?
I'm so sorry you lost your beloved kitty. I know it's hard. I lost a little white kitty named snowball years ago and still remember how it hurt. I cried and cried.
Sending you lots of big hugs, Chris.

Awww what a pretty girl she is.  Could she have gotten into some poison? The same thing happened to my daughter in law's cat. They think someone set out anti freeze.  In a short time his kidneys shut down and he had to be put down. My heart goes out to you all. I know Skittsy will be missed.
Hugs, Barb

Hi Chris - I`m out of the loop with journals and I`m trying to catch up, so this is the first I`ve heard about Becky`s cat. I`m soooo sorry. These little critters really do become a loving part of a family.
Love you and hoping things get better,

Awwww believe it or not I am missing our Katie a bit...but I'm glad she's getting the chance to go to a loving home (not that we didn't love her).  Becky will be ok in time.....it's tough to lose a cherrished pet.

I hope she is doing a little better by now.  It is always hard when you lose a pet since they are a part of the family that has love that is unconditional.  Take care and have a good holiday.
