Betty Boop Day

LOL...so the third times a charm.....

I am obsessed with Betty Boop.  Of course, I'm obsessed with so many off-the-wall things.  This one is dedicated to my daughter, Becky, who has an extensive collection of Betty Boop memorabilia.  I want it...LOL...just don't have the room for all that stuff..

Ok...I'll admit it...after 11 a.m. and I'm still in my jammies....no cigar...just a pot of coffee and a cigarette, which I really want to give up...the smoking......

I'm still feeling crappy so it's time to go the doctor's for antibiotics and the patch.

As "someone" commented...LOL...I have a birthday coming of very soon.  Don't know if I'll be jumping out of the cake Tues or not since I'm supposed to work on Wed to make up for this day off.  Of course, I do have a lot of sick leave...hmmm...I have to give this some thought....

Ok...so this is the dress that Betty is loaning me since the super hot sequin one knocked my journal out of whack...shucks.....

Sooooooo....... off I go to eat some chicken soup...that Nyquil is making me loopy....

Just wanted to show ya the balloons that Betty is sending my way....LOL....wonder what my boyfriend has for me?

I'm not quite sure why I'm adding another entry except that these graphics were just so darned cute that I had to put them in here and I do believe in angels.....always have.  I don't think I would have made it this far or through the things I've had to survive without an angel on  my shoulder.

I actually have a pretty large collection of angels.  I started it and didn't even realize I was doing it until my mother pointed it out to me.

My most treasued one is a true Christmas story.  My dad died in Sept. 1994 of a cardiac arrest.  I was daddy's girl.  Christmas was so rough that year.  My father was the heart and soul of our Christmas holiday.  My parents always gave me money but my dad always shopped and bought me a special present.  My ex bought me nothing and the kids couldn't because they were still young.  The gifts were being passed around.  We always had everyone at our house for a huge Christmas meal.  I got more forlorn because I realized I would get a check from my mom and some small stocking stuffer type things.  Then.......she handed me a small box.   Whoa, wait a minute...my dad's handwriting was on the tag.  My heart stopped.  I opened the box and there was one of the first angels from the Dreamsicle collection.  I burst into tears.

My mom told me that two days before he died they were in a Hallmark.  It was September.  He saw this angel and insisted on buying it for Chrissie (that's what he called me) right then and there because they might not get back to that particular store.  Not only did he buy it but took it home and wrapped it and signed the tag because my mother is always good for putting gifts away and not finding them.  He stuck it in his dresser drawer.

I will never, ever forget Christmas 1994.....my dad's angel was sitting on his shoulder the day he bought me my first angel...............

                                     (love you, daddy)

Some things I'm pondering on this morning:

Why do I wake up on the days I don't have to work way earlier than I would on a normal work day?  Especially since I didn't fall asleep until well after midnight last night....

I actually enjoyed a quiet evening at home, by myself, sans kid (son) and didn't even have any desire to go out anywhere or any desire to do anything more than a couple loads of laundry (plus parked my butt, once again, at this computer).

I'm pondering the thought of going to the Walmart Supercenter very soon...LOL..to do my weekly or should I say bi-weekly shopping and beat the crowds.  It would be nice to zip through the store and not have to stand in a line.

But, I'm also being drawn to Target so I may have to wait until Target opens so I can kill two birds with one stone.

I've come to the conclusion that I hate to do housework on Saturdays...not that I like it any other day...but I think Saturday is a wind down day.

My 22 year old son is a slob...sorry you guys with little ones...they just don't get any better.  He thinks the family room floor is his hamper.  He's dazed and confused about what he wants to do with his life (uh..get a job).  He is job hunting and since his seasonal job ended he is the official recipient of the "honey-do" list.  He fought it tooth and nail for about a month.  The $3.00 left in his checking account made him see the light.  He's back to getting an allowance for chores...LOL

I actually paid him to leave last night and go out with his friends so I would have the house to myself.  I didn't want a permanent fixture on the recliner clutching that damned remote.

So, I say, Joey, what do you want for dinner tomorrow nite (Sunday).  Uh, I don't know.  Surprise me.  How muchya wanna bet he won't like my surprise..drives me nuts.  Tell me what you want to eat or cook for yourself.......actually he can cook...I don't get home until 7:00 in the evening so he either cooks or would wither away.  Just do the darned dishes....which he will end up doing anyway because that will be on his list.

Baby, my youngest, will be coming home for Thanksgiving break in 11 days.  The countdown is starting.  For some reason, she loves to call me on Friday at work to drop her bombshells. Whoo, she has a long Thanksgiving break but Thank God she will be working....that one best get a very good job because she is high maintenance.

My oldest, lovingly called the Mouth, called yesterday because she was having computer problems....still shaking my head on this one...she is the one who troubleshoots my computer problems and she called me?  She also called me at work Friday to ask me if I would buy her an IPod Shuffle for Christmas...LOL..what's that????

November and the leaves are still on the trees in western Pa.?  Very odd....a few have fallen but the trees should be bare.  Not that I'm complaining.  I hate drab.  And such warm weather...God must be sparing us from turning on the furnace.

This coming Friday is Veterans Days...so say a prayer for those serving right now and salute those who have served our country no matter what we feel about the politics of this country...freedom is priceless........

Some Funny Stuff

I think sometimes I have a warped sense of humor.  This one just cracked me up...........

This one did, too.  For those us of with children, even those big kids...

No explanations necessary for anyone who has a male living in the household...LOL

I think I may have to print a couple dozen of these and pass them out to all who enter my threshold...........

LOL....try it and leave a link....as if I don't have anything better to do......

Thankfully, I'm not one to stay down long.  I vent and move on.  Life is too short....and we all have our own things to deal with...

Plus...lol...a night out with the BF and Mick, Jack and Jim (Michelob, Jack Daniels and Jim Beam, in that order) can restore peace in the valley.  Thank God for my BF.  He left work early yesterday.  Must have picked up the bug I was spreading.  But he didn't leave before all the commotion.  He felt bad for me and called at 9:00 to see if I wanted to go out.  Need he ask??  I flew to the shower...........  I've come to the conclusion it's much better to drink among friends that to sit home and down a few alone.

So today is back to normal drudgery....I have to pull out the old "leaf sucker" and do some leaves in my yard before my new next door neighbor has a hissy fit.  (Oh, why do all my lovely neighbors have to move and sell their houses?  Happened in my old "hood" too.)  Then I have to plunge my bathtub.  For some reason, that hair just slips through all the screens I use to keep it out of the drain.  I swear all I get done doing is plunging everything around this house.  Liquid Plumber and a plunger...

Tonite will be peaceful.  My son is going back to Pittsburgh to visit all his longtime friends....YEAH!  He does this every Saturday so if my boyfriend is sick tonite, I'll just have to hit my case of beer myself.  At least, I'm in a very good mood now.

I stopped at Target....man, I'm starting to love that place...didn't have my Target credit card with me, which may be a good thing, because I found all kinds of neat stuff....clothes included...that I just have to have.

So, I didn't get to visit many journals last nite coz when I get a chance to split this scene, I jump on it....I have to run but definitely plan to spend sometime today visiting J-Land.....

I just wanted to add also that, not that anybody would want to, but if ya do feel free to snag and pimp anything out of my journal that ya want.  Don't ask....it's free for the taking....

Friday, November 4, 2005

Well this just about sums up my day today.  I've seen this one before, even had it hung up in my cubicle long ago when I had a far worse job that what I have now but today was FRUSTRATING.....totally.

I'm so far behind and my helper has been off sick all week.  I always complain that he is slow and he frustrates me but honestly he likes to do the drudgery stuff and does help me to stay on top of things.  I hate to play catch up.  It drives me nuts.  And he is leaving soon.  He is taking disability retirement because of severe arthritis so I feel bad.  I feel bad for him and bad for myself because I will never stay afloat after he is gone.  Think I'm getting a very good glimpse at my future at work.

Anyway, my supervisor comes over and asks me to go with her...she wants to show me something...ok...not anything new.  She's always dragging me around to get help with something.  Oh, I should have known something was up.

I was taken to the farthest end of the floor in the file room.  There is a cubicle stuck way in the back.  She says, "This is your new home starting Monday."  I'm just like HUNH?  All my work is brought into the main area.  And what about Greg, my helper?  Well, he's staying in the old spot.  Granted, it's a penthouse of a cubicle but it's stuck in the dredges of hell...the dirty, noisy file room. What about a printer?  I use two different printers actually.  That's an enormous portion of my job.  Hmm...never thought of it but she would ask.

This is to you.......f%$k you....so how am I supposed to get my work which will still be in my old spot to this new spot?  A cart?  A CART!

What in the world is she thinking???????  Well, it's been put on hold because I can't exist with just a computer and a desk.  There are no more printers available right now, so I have a reprieve.  I also have a headache and bought a damn case of beer....lol.

I think I've won the battle but the war is just beginning....

ROFLMAO...I swear I think I'm going insane...or at least maybe a little loopy....

Later....chris
