Clarification...lol

LOL..before you all think I'm totally nuts and I'm going to start howling at the moon, I have to clarify something.  Starting with Jackie, I was getting comments that you all couldn't believe I was taking Grizzly's meds.  I'm thinking where did they get that impression and then I read my entry again and had to crack up.

Actually, Grizzly was taking "people's" glucosamine from Walmart for a year and half.  It worked super well and was soooo much cheaper than the chews from the vets.  I would just give him his daily dose with Alpo.  So, no, I did not take meds from the vet; just a supplement from the vitamin section at Wally World.

I've also been seeing a link in other journals that you can access and have it match your picture with celebrity look alikes.  Ok, I did it and guess what....none.  I mean zilch.  It said you needed a straight on head shot.  Well, I don't have any straight on head shots but I did find one that was pretty close to one and submitted it.  ROLF...still nothing.  No matches. I'm supposing I'm sort of glad because I was imagining the possibilities.  I'm unique; at least that's what I'm telling myself.

This is a short one for me tonight as I can see my mailbox filling up as I do this.

I did want to mention that Sharon Golf and Other Stuff... or Golfaholic, as her journal is now called, has a birthday tomorrow.  I do believe Sharon will be older than me for a week or so..hehe  So, drop by and send her some birthday witches...ooops, I mean wishes.

Chris

I was wondering about that too...but it makes sense!  I have a daschund that has a small bald spot on her back.  The vet did all sorts of tests and found nothing wrong, then checked out his vet journal and this is not uncommon with these dogs.  The solution?  Melatonin!  Yep, I take it at night before bed to help me sleep.  Totally natural....sold in Walmart.  Maggie now takes one a day and guess what?  The bald spot is almost gone!

And she sleeps really well too....(lol)

Chris,
I'm glad I'm not the only one who has thought about taking the same meds as my dog.  I have a good friend (old drinking buddy) who is a vet. He once told me that a lot of the meds are exactly the same, just different dosages.
Thanks for mentioning Sharon's Birthday.

That is really funny about the dog's medicine hahaha!  I would hope that I don't look like a celebrity either! I like being me!

Happy Halloween!

That's funny. I just went through something similar. My mom was over at my house and saw me give the dogs jerky several times, then I ate one myself. She freaked. I don't think most people understand that dogs and people can digest pretty much the same things, including medicines (not that I'd tell you that it's okay to take the dog's medicine, if it had been the dog's)

A lot of people don't realize that most of the time big dogs are on people meds anyhow!

be well,

Some of the meds that my pets have taken were over the counter from the drug store.  Have a great Halloween.

I can remember giving the dog a dog bone when I was a kid and then wondering what it taste like, tasted it and then ate it.  It didn't kill me.  Happy Halloween Cris.

hmm it's a doggone world we live in... My brother has eaten doggie biscuits... We've given our dogs aspirin ... and just the other day we took one of our female dogs to get "Fixed" and on the paperwork they listed some of the medicines they use. I recognized a few of them from when I was in Practical Nursing classes... And no I didn't make it all the way thru my nurses training... :(
